Index color is a screen printing process for reproducing a photo realistic image on a garment or substrate.

This is a good choice for air brushed art being that it creates gradations of color by means of random or stochastic dot. This pattern is similar to the spray of an air brush or graininess of a photo, therefore providing complimentary results. Generally this means of printing requires eight to twelve colors for accurate reproduction of a full color image, creating a smooth blending of colors on both light and dark garments.
